You must also have the originals of the additional documentation: proof of sufficient funds and proof of employment, studies, or family ties in your country of origin.
Do I need a photo to apply for the visa?

A photo is one of the mandatory requirements in your visa application.
When filling out the DS-160 application form on our website, you must upload a digital photograph. On the day of the interview you must also bring a printed photo.
Your photo must be recent to reflect your current appearance (taken within the last), with a white background and a size of 5 cm x 5 cm.
Will my fingerprints be taken?

Fingerprinting is part of your U.S. visa application process. During your interview at the embassy or consulate, they will take a quick, inkless scan of your fingerprints.
Is a consular interview mandatory?

The interview is mandatory to apply for a U.S. visa. In some cases you may be eligible for a consular interview exemption.
How can I confirm the date of my interview?

All the detailed information for your consular interview will be sent to you by email. This includes instructions, time and date, and embassy or consulate information.
Will the embassy give me my visa at the end of the interview?

Once your visa is approved, the consular officer will retain your passport to attach the visa.
We will notify you by email of the time, date, and place where you must pick up your passport with the attached visa. Some embassies may have the option to send it to your home address.
How long will it take for my visa to be delivered?

Once approved, your visa will be returned to you, along with your passport, within approximately 7 working days. You will receive an email with the confirmation and the necessary information to pick up your approved document.
